Aftercare
Method 1: Traditional Bandage Healing (non-stick gauze)
Remove Bandage: Keep the initial bandage on for 1 to 4 hours. Do not rebandage.
Wash Gently: Wash your hands, then gently clean your tattoo with warm water and fragrance free, liquid soap. Never use abrasive cloths.
Dry: Pat the skin dry with a clean, lint-free paper towel. Let air dry for 10-15 minutes.
Moisturize: After a few days it will appear dry. Apply a very thin pea-sized amount of unscented lotion. Over-moisturizing can suffocate the tattoo.
Method 2: (Second Skin, Saniderm, Tagederm, etc.)
Leave it on: Keep the film on until the following morning. Fluid (plasma and ink) buildup is normal.
Remove Safely: Peel the film off slowly in the shower. The warm water will help it come off.
Clean & Care: Wash with mild liquid soap, pat dry with a paper towel.
DO NOT:
Pick or scratch.
Submerge: Avoid baths, swimming pools, ocean, lakes, rivers, hottubs, etc. until healed.
Sunbathe: Keep fresh tattoos out of the sun until healed.
Avoid Tight Clothing.
